SUMMARY:Improving Watershed Health through Agricultural-Municipal Partnerships
DESCRIPTION:On July 15th\, EPA’s Water Finance Center will host a 75-minute webinar on three different agricultural-municipal partnerships. Watersheds can benefit when municipal water treatment plants invest in conservation practices on nearby farms. These agricultural-municipal partnerships reflect a commitment to integrated planning across the complete water cycle with a strong emphasis on a highly collaborative and inclusive approach to watershed health improvement. By drawing on an integrated watershed approach\, these partnerships unlock additional alternatives to address watershed health stressors and bring a broader array of watershed participants into the mix to craft solutions and take action for watershed health improvement. \n  \nYou will hear experiences from the City of Boise\, Ohio’s Miami Conservancy District\, and Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment. This webinar will feature presentations where speakers will share their experiences and reflect on lessons learned as well as answer questions from participants.

SUMMARY:From Research and Innovation to Implementation: Examples of Conservation Finance in Action
DESCRIPTION:While conservation finance is far from new\, there is a wide array of emerging research and innovative models for aligning conservation practice implementation with market-based mechanisms. But how do we translate this research and innovation into implementation? Tune in to this month’s edition of The Current Webinar series as we explore three examples of conservation finance in practice – from incorporating conservation into ag leases to aggregating conservation drainage bids and public-private collaboration.

SUMMARY:Nutrient Reduction Best Management Practices in Cold Climates: A review of the 2019 Red River Basin Cold Climate Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In April 2019 partners across the Red River Basin of the North came together for a workshop to examine the available research on the effectiveness and suitability of nutrient reduction beneficial management practices (BMPs) in cold climates. This edition of The Current Webinar series will feature three workshop organizers who will discuss the workshop\, how it came together and why more discussion around nutrient reduction BMPs in cold climates is needed. Speakers will also share the main research gaps identified and the BMPs the group broadly agreed were highly effective in reducing N and/or P loading in the basin.
